Legends of Wave
We back our competitors. If you put on a Wave BJJ patch and step onto the mat at an IBJJF major, we want to recognise that — and if you medal or win gold, we want to reward it.

Requirements
Who Qualifies
The Legends Programme is open to all active Wave BJJ members who want to represent the gym at the highest level of Gi competition.
Active member for at least 3 months — required for Tiers 1, 2 and 3
Active member for at least 1 year — required for the £10,000 Legend Prize
Registered and competing under Wave BJJ at the event
Competing at an IBJJF major: Worlds, Pans, Europeans, or Brasileiros
Notified the gym before the event takes place
All belts, adults and masters divisions — Gi only
Once you've met the criteria, just let us know — bring your results and we'll sort the rest.
The Programme
Three Tiers
Each tier rewards a different level of achievement. You can move up the tiers as you compete and progress.
Competitor
Stepped onto the mat at an IBJJF major representing Wave BJJ. That takes guts.

Medallist
Climbed onto the podium at an IBJJF major. You've proven you belong at the top.

Once per calendar year
Champion
Gold at an IBJJF major. The highest standard in competitive Gi BJJ.

Once per calendar year
Kids competitors — we celebrate our younger members in class and on the wall, but the formal Legends Programme is adults and masters only. Kids achievements never go unrecognised.
The Legend Prize
First Black Belt Adult to Win Gold at the
IBJJF World Championship
Black belt adult, Gi division. The prize goes to the first Wave BJJ member to stand on top of the world. Nothing less, nothing more.
Requirements
- —Active Wave BJJ member for at least 1 year
- —Competing registered under Wave BJJ
- —Black belt adult division, Gi only
- —IBJJF World Championship — no other event qualifies
